Video: Formula 3 Racing at Sonoma Raceway
Stoked to share this piece! Here’s an edited formula 3 driver promo video shot at Sonoma Raceway during the Jim Russell F3 Racing Series by Simraceway. The video work was shot by Nils Carlson and myself in 4K HD format with the Black Magic Design Production Camera. We also used (4) different GoPro cameras (set to 4K) mounted to the car to provide POV coverage of the track, driver, and car. The best thing about using multiple GoPro cameras is that we can get a large amount of material captured in a short amount of time. This has been incredibly helpful for our motorsports work when track schedules are very tight.
The editing was done by Michael Altino of Silver Style Pictures, a two person team from NY who have done commercials for Jaguar. They did a killer job, and we like how Michael added drama to the edit to show the intensity in racing without using excessive effects.
